About

The Order of Thelema is an organization dedicated to providing an approach to learn the spiritual and magical system of Aleister Crowley’s Thelema.

Our Story

• The Order of Thelema is primarily inspired by Liber AL vel Legis, The Book of the Law.
• We accept The Book of the Law as the Word and Letter of Truth and the Rule of Life.
• The Order of Thelema is also inspired by the Constitutions of the Order of Thelemites, written in ~1921 by Aleister Crowley.

A Note on A∴A∴

• We are in sympathy to A∴A∴. We have no formal connection with them. We respect their aims and their autonomy.
• Aleister Crowley uses the language of A∴A∴ when discussing the path of attainment, so naturally there will times when terms like “Neophyte” or “Magister” occur. At no point do these terms refer to degrees or titles within the temporal organization A∴A∴.
• Membership in our organization does not confer any degree or privileges in any other organization: this includes A∴A∴, OTO, TOT, TOTSS, TTO, GD, Freemasonry, or any other organization.

Our Structure

• There are 3 Orders within the Order of Thelema: The Outer Order, the Inner Order, and the Secret Order.
  • Each Order pertains to different Grades, and each is organized differently.
  • There subdivisions within each Order, but ultimately there are 3 Orders.
• There are 3 Grades within the Order of Thelema, corresponding to the 3 Orders: The Man of Earth, the Lover, and the Hermit. These are based on AL I:40.
  • There are sub-grades within each Grade, but ultimately there are 3 Grades.
• The individual passes through 3 Stages within the Order of Thelema: The Zelator, the Adeptus, and the Magister.

Membership in Our Order

• You must be an adult aged 18+. There are no restrictions based on gender, ethnicity, or otherwise.
• Membership begins as a Zelator.
